Abigiel Utomo – Executive Director

Abigiel is a fifth-year actuarial science student at the University of Calgary. She is currently an intern at Aviva, where she previously gained hands-on experience in commercial insurance pricing, personal insurance pricing, specialty pricing, and is now building her skills on the reserving team.

Outside of school and work, Abigiel enjoys exploring new hobbies. Lately, she’s been into sitcom TV shows, and she’s looking forward to a summer of adventure while based in Toronto. Don’t hesitate to say hello if you see her around, she’s always happy to connect!

Darsh Wadhia – Convention Director

Darsh Wadhia is a passionate and driven Actuarial Science graduate from Western University. He has passed five actuarial exams and brings diverse industry experience, having interned at WTW in Toronto, Manulife in Montréal, and Sun Life in Toronto. He is set to begin his professional journey as an incoming Insurance Consultant at EY.

Darsh’s journey with ASNA began in 2023 as a volunteer at the Toronto convention. What started as a way to get involved quickly became something much deeper: a community that supported, challenged, and inspired him. He has since served as Convention Chair for ASNA 2025, and now returns as Convention Director, eager to give back to the organization that has given him so much.

To Darsh, ASNA is more than a student network — it’s a family. Every person he has met through ASNA has left a lasting impression with their brilliance, ambition, and kindness. He encourages anyone reading this to consider applying for a role. Whether you’re new to the field or unsure where you fit in, ASNA welcomes you. Darsh still remembers feeling overwhelmed when he attended his first convention, but with time, effort, and the support of this community, he not only found his place — he grew into a leader.

Athanasios Lavazos – Strategic Director

Athanasios is recent graduate from Concordia University, currently working full time at Manulife. Athanasios served as president for the 2024-2025 term and participated in various student organizations throughout his academic journey. Athanasios is currently pursuing his ASA designation and has previously interned at Intact, Mercer, and Munich Re. He enjoys meeting new people and chatting over coffee – so feel free to say hello or reach out to him on LinkedIn.

Sue Liu – President

Sha (Sue) is a graduate of the University of Waterloo. She has interned at Sun Life, CAA Club Group, PwC, Oliver Wyman, Milliman, and BMO Capital Markets, where she gained hands-on experience in both life insurance and sales & trading. She is now working in strategy consulting.

Her journey with ASNA began as Vice President of Case Competition for the Niagara Falls Convention—a role that sparked her passion for community building and ultimately led to her current position as ASNA President. She is excited to lead the planning of the 2027 convention in Montréal, especially because it brings her full circle back to the very first convention she attended. Alongside the team, she is working on several exciting new initiatives—stay tuned!

Outside of school and work, Sha (Sue) enjoys exploring new hobbies. Lately, she has been into range shooting and the game Go. Don’t hesitate to say hello if you see her around—she is always happy to connect!

Daniel Magee – President-Elect

Daniel is a dynamic third-year Actuarial Mathematics and Finance student from Montréal, QC, attending Concordia University. During his studies, he has completed four actuarial exams, served as VP Academic and incoming President of Concordia’s Mathematics Student Association (MASSA), and completed actuarial internships with Sun Life and Mercer.

Daniel has been involved with ASNA for two years: first as a volunteer in 2025, and most recently as Director of Sales in 2026. In this role, he restructured the registration process, managed participant data and registration changes, and coordinated transportation for ASNA’s first convention with over 900 attendees. As President-Elect, he is excited to contribute to the organization’s long-term strategy and growth.

Beyond actuarial science, Daniel is a passionate coach who has taught basketball and tennis in his local community for more than seven years. He is also an avid follower of Canadian federal politics and a dedicated music enthusiast who plays five instruments. Daniel is thrilled to welcome you to Montréal for ASNA 2027!

Amy Zhao – Convention Chair

Amy is going into her fourth year of actuarial science at the University of Calgary. Ever since volunteering at her first convention in 2024 in Montréal, she knew she wanted to be a part of the team that makes ASNA’s mission possible. Her previous roles include VP West and VP Administration, and she is super excited to take on the role of Convention Chair. She is extremely grateful for the trust the team has placed in her, and looks forward to working alongside them to bring the excitement and magic to the 2027 Convention in Montréal.

Ekta Boodhun – VP Administration

Ekta Boodhun is entering her second year at the University of Toronto, where she is pursuing a double major in Actuarial Science and Statistics. She is passionate about building strong communities, fostering meaningful connections, and creating opportunities that help students grow both personally and professionally. This summer, she will be completing an actuarial internship at Deloitte, following a previous internship at Ernst & Young.

Outside the classroom, Ekta enjoys getting involved in student organizations and initiatives that promote leadership, collaboration, and community engagement. As VP Administration, her first role with ASNA, she is excited to support the executive team, contribute to the growth of the organization, and help deliver a successful convention experience for members across Canada. Through her involvement with ASNA, she hopes to give back to the actuarial community while helping create valuable opportunities for students to learn, connect, and succeed.

Ashley Chan – VP Finance

Ashley Chan is a fourth-year student in the Mathematics and Business Administration Double Degree program at the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University.

Through internships at OSFI, Milliman, and Intact, she has gained valuable experience across different areas of the actuarial industry and will be joining Oliver Wyman this fall.

After previously serving in leadership roles within the University of Waterloo’s Actuarial Science Club, Ashley is excited to take on the role of VP Finance for ASNA. She hopes to help this year’s team continue creating a meaningful impact for students both personally and professionally.

Outside of academics, Ashley enjoys going on runs and playing soccer with friends. She always enjoys meeting new people and looks forward to connecting with students at the convention and through LinkedIn.

Lynn Jerome – VP Ontario

Lynn is a fourth-year Mathematical Sciences student specializing in Statistics at the University of Guelph. She is currently serving as VP Ontario for ASNA 2027 and Co-VP for Guelph’s Actuarial Science Club. Professionally, Lynn is spending this summer at Sun Life before heading to Manulife for the Fall term.

In her downtime, Lynn enjoys playing guitar, playing Stardew Valley and spending time with her cat Penny Maple on visits home in Saskatoon. Emma Poole – VP Québec

Emma is a fourth-year Actuarial Mathematics/Finance student at Concordia University. Throughout her studies, she has completed internships at Aviva, RGA, and Mercer, gaining exposure to different areas of the actuarial profession and learning from a variety of teams along the way. She has also completed several actuarial exams and previously served as VP Finance of MASSA Concordia (Mathematics, Actuarial, and Statistics Student Association).

What Emma enjoys most about the actuarial community is the opportunity to meet people who share similar experiences and interests. She is excited to serve as VP Québec for this year’s convention, and help create an engaging and memorable experience for students from across the country.

In her free time, Emma enjoys playing piano, watching and discussing movies, and spending quality time with friends and family. She is looking forward to helping make this year’s convention a great experience for everyone involved!

Vibhanshu Pathak – VP West

Vibhanshu Pathak is a fourth year Statistics-Actuarial Double Honours student at the University of Manitoba. He first attended ASNA 2025 in Niagara Falls and 2026 as the University Head Delegate in Ottawa, and his experience was so immense and meaningful to him that he instantly knew he had to get involved. As the VP West, he’s passionate connecting bridges between Universities and ASNA through well-structured info sessions in the universities of the west and their streamlined preparation of getting a job at ASNA. He’s motivated to ease any overwhelming feelings Head Delegates may be experiencing and show them the importance of growing meaningful interpersonal relationships within the Actuarial community.

Outside of academics, Vibhanshu is a huge Football fan, an Aerospace Engineer, a Theatre kid, a Cinephile, and can solve the Rubiks cube in around 10 seconds. He enjoys learning new things, making lasting memories, and making new friends, don’t be intimidated to say hello on LinkedIn or in person!

Trista Sahely – VP Atlantic

Trista Sahely is heading into her fourth year pursuing a Bachelor of Science with a Major in Actuarial Science at the University of Prince Edward Island. Last year, she attended her first ASNA Convention, and after that experience, she knew she wanted to become more involved with the organization. This year, she will be taking on the role of VP Atlantic, as well as an executive position within her university’s actuarial science club. Through these roles, she hopes to help connect students across Atlantic Canada and encourage greater involvement within the actuarial community.

Currently, Trista is preparing to write Exam FM in August and is eager to continue growing both academically and professionally. She is particularly interested in the problem-solving and analytical aspects of actuarial science and looks forward to exploring different career paths within the field. In her free time, she enjoys working out at the gym and playing video games with her friends.

Wyatt Larsh – VP Communications

Wyatt is an incoming third-year actuarial science student at the University of Calgary. He is currently completing his first actuarial internship with Intact, and he will be completing two other internships at Sun Life and Aviva within the next year. At UCalgary, Wyatt is highly active in the actuarial science club, currently serving as VP Events. Wyatt has been involved with ASNA for the past two years, serving as VP West for the 2026 Convention in Ottawa and as a volunteer for the 2025 Convention in Niagara Falls.

Outside of university and work, he enjoys singing, dancing, sewing, and learning French. Wyatt has always been passionate about making sure all people feel included in every space he sets foot into, and he hopes to use his position as VP Communications to further ensure ASNA is a place where all feel welcome, valued, and empowered to succeed.

Shiva Patel – VP Case Competition

Shiva Patel is a second-year student in the Mathematics and Business Administration Double Degree program at the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University. So far, she has completed an actuarial internship at Sun Life and passed her first actuarial exam.

After an incredibly fulfilling experience attending ASNA 2026, she was inspired to get involved behind the scenes. She is excited to contribute to the development of next year’s case competition and help create a memorable experience for future attendees.

Alvinson Zheng – Webmaster

Alvinson Zheng is a driven third year student specializing in Statistics with a minor in Economics in the Faculty of Science at McGill University. He is currently the Webmaster for ASNA 2027 and Co-President of the McGill Students’ Actuarial Association. He will be responsible for the ASNA website, from providing these bios about the entire team to all the details regarding the convention throughout the year. He is excited to be part of the team, building and delivering the ASNA 2027 Montréal convention, after a very satisfying experience attending and volunteering at the ASNA 2026 convention in Ottawa.

Sarah Mei – Future Actuary

Sarah is a second year actuarial science student at the University of Waterloo. She has two exams passed and will be working at Equitable as a co-op student in the fall. She is excited to be on the ASNA executive team this year and looks forward to increasing student engagement and bringing together members of the community.

Outside of ASNA, Sarah is also an executive on the University of Waterloo Actuarial Science Club and on the Board of Directors of the Mathematics Society at the University of Waterloo. Committed to student leadership, she strives to get involved and make a difference.

Sanjit Neil Samanta – VP Business Relations

Sanjit is entering his final year specializing in Actuarial Science at the University of Toronto. He has built a breadth of experience through work terms in both the Property & Casualty and Life insurance sectors. This is his second year serving as ASNA’s VP Business Relations, and he is eager to continue building on the initiatives he developed previously to further enhance the experience of ASNA attendees.

Sanjit is deeply passionate about volunteerism and mentorship and is closely involved with the University of Toronto’s Statistics Department in mentoring incoming and current undergraduate students. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities and going on night drives.

Annabelle Topas – Director of Sponsorship

Annabelle is an incoming 4th year actuarial student at the University of Toronto. She was previously a co-op student at Aviva, Sunlife, Intact, PwC and passed 6 actuarial exams.

She served as VP Communications last year, hosting The Official ASNA Podcast and the mentorship program. This year, she is excited to be back as Director of Sponsorship.

Mary Barron – Director of Events

Mary is a fourth-year Actuarial Science student at the University of Windsor. Over the past two years, she has served as Windsor’s Head Delegate and, last year, had the opportunity to be ASNA’s Director of Events. She loved the experience so much that she decided to return for another year on the ASNA team!

Mary is also the President of the Windsor Actuarial Club and is currently completing an actuarial internship at Sun Life. She has successfully passed both Exam FM and Exam P and is excited to continue growing within the actuarial profession.

In her free time, Mary loves exploring Toronto, trying healthy restaurants, lifting weights at the gym, running, and spending time outdoors. She also loves fashion and planning her office outfits! She loves meeting new people and can’t wait to see everyone at ASNA!

Julia Dauth – Director of Logistics and Finance

Julia Dauth is a third-year Actuarial Mathematics student at Concordia University. She is actively involved on campus as a member of MASSA’s Communications Committee and as an ACTEX Champion, where she helps connect students with valuable actuarial resources. This is her first year being involved with ASNA, and she is excited to contribute to the organization while connecting with actuarial students from across Canada.

Beyond academics, Julia has several years of experience as an assistant manager, lifeguard, and working in the service industry, which have strengthened her leadership and communication skills. Outside of school and work, she enjoys traveling, staying active, and spending time hiking and exploring the outdoors. As a former competitive diver, she enjoys challenging herself, meeting new people, and embracing new experiences. She looks forward to contributing to a strong and supportive actuarial community.

Bolin Ma – Director of Sales

Bolin is a third-year Actuarial Science student at the University of Waterloo. He has worked in both Life and P&C industries and is actively engaged in the Actuarial community.

Having served as Director of Marketing at ASNA Ottawa in 2026, Bolin is excited to take on the role of Director of Sales where he will be working diligently to streamline the student registration and transportation process. Bolin believes that every student interested in the field of Actuarial Science should attend ASNA – whether it is to find jobs, get a break from studying, or to build meaningful connections with peers and professionals across the country. They had truly been rewarding experiences for him – and he hopes they will become yours too!

Stephane Srimohan – Director of Accommodations

Stephane is a third-year Mathematics and Statistics student at Concordia University and is currently preparing for the SOA Exam P. On campus, he has been elected as the new VP Academic for the Mathematics, Actuarial and Statistics Student Association, where he is committed to supporting his peers and strengthening the actuarial community at Concordia.

After attending his first convention in Ottawa, he has expressed interest in serving as Head Delegate for Concordia and as Director of Accommodations for ASNA 2027, where he is committed to delivering a seamless experience for every attendee.

Ira Chourey – Director of Marketing

Ira is a student in Mathematical Finance and Risk Management at the University of Waterloo. Ira has always been drawn to the intersection of complex math and practical insurance applications. Her favorite part of the actuarial path has been the connections she’s made across the country. She is passionate about creating spaces where students can feel supported and challenged. She is beyond grateful to join the ASNA team for the second year and is dedicated to fostering that same sense of community and excitement throughout her term with ASNA.

Eleonore Egle – Director of Design

Eleonore is an actuarial mathematics student at the Université de Montréal entering her third year of studies, with a passion for creativity and design. Outside of academics, she enjoys expressing herself through music, fashion, baking, and various creative projects. She was also recently elected Vice-President of Communications for the Actuarial Club of the Université de Montréal.

She attended her first ASNA convention in 2026 as a volunteer, an experience that deepened her interest in the organization and its impact on students.

As ASNA’s Director of Design, she is responsible for creating the convention’s visual identity, including the logo, theme, and colour palette. She also designs the booklets and works on anything related to the convention’s branding and visuals. She is excited to contribute to this year’s convention and help create a memorable experience for all attendees!

Madhav Nikhil Sewpal – Director of Operations

Madhav Nikhil (Nick) Sewpal is a 4th Bachelors of Economics (Honours) student at Carleton University. He is currently serving his 3rd year at ASNA-ANÉA, he represented his university as its first Head Delegate and Director of Special Projects for the Ottawa Convention. Nick Sewpal founded and led Carleton’s Actuarial Science Student Association for 2 years. Furthermore, he was part of the inaugural Society of Actuaries’ Student Ambassadors program and his faculty representative for Actuarial Science.

Clerea Danisa – Director of Special Projects

Clerea Danisa is a fourth-year Actuarial Science and Statistics student at the University of Calgary. She first became involved with ASNA during the 2025–2026 convention year as a volunteer and was inspired by the strong sense of community among actuarial students from across Canada. Through her involvement with the University of Calgary’s actuarial club, she has enjoyed helping students stay connected and engaged within the actuarial community. Clerea joined ASNA not only to surround herself with like-minded individuals, but also to contribute to making the actuarial student experience better for students nationwide. She is excited to help foster meaningful connections and create opportunities for students to learn, grow, and succeed.

Jigarjeet Grovera – Director of External Outreach

Jigarjeet is a fourth-year student pursuing a double degree in actuarial science and business administration at the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University. She has passed four actuarial exams and has gained experience in life consulting and pensions audit/consulting through internships at Milliman and EY. She is excited to continue her professional journey with Munich Re this upcoming winter.

Outside of academics and internships, Jigarjeet is actively involved in the actuarial student community through leadership roles with organizations including ASNA, UW ActSci Club, Quantify, and the Laurier Insurance and Risk Association. Having attended the past two ASNA conventions, she is excited to support and connect actuarial students across Canada in her roles as Director of External Outreach and Head Delegate for Wilfrid Laurier University.

Dylan Marson – Technical Director

Dylan is a driven and ambitious second-year Actuarial Mathematics student at Concordia University. He has completed two actuarial exams and is committed to writing more over the next year. Dylan attended his first ASNA convention at the Niagara 2025 Convention. Looking to contribute in a greater way to this year’s conference, Dylan is beyond excited to be your Technical Director for ASNA 2027!

Dylan has internship experience at Sun Life in the Model Validation Unit and at Intact in the Corporate Actuarial Department.

Outside of school, Dylan loves to stay active. In his free time, he enjoys playing a wide variety of sports like hockey, bouldering, swimming and golf. When he is not out playing sports, he will usually be watching one on tv, following several professional teams including the Habs, Blue Jays, and Packers.

Eva-Rose Massaad – UQAM – Quebec

Eva-Rose is a second-year Actuarial Science student at the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM). Passionate about mathematics and always eager to take on new challenges, she is currently Vice-President of the Actuarial Science Student Association (AGEMA).

She interned at Promutuel Insurance, where she gained valuable hands-on experience and had the opportunity to learn more about her field of study. Looking ahead, Eva-Rose hopes to pursue further studies in mathematics and eventually conduct research.

Alexandre Dupont – Université Laval – Quebec

Alexandre is a third-year Actuarial Science student at Université Laval. After attending two ASNA conventions and enjoying the opportunity to connect with students from across the country, he is excited to return this year as the Head Delegate for Université Laval.

Alex Palmer – University of Waterloo – Ontario

Alex has held experiences all over the insurance industry at a brokerage, direct, consultant, reinsurer, and currently at a mutual. He is also deeply involved in student organizations holding positions on ASNA and as a SOA student ambassador. Always happy to chat!

Emma Augustine – University of Toronto – Ontario

Emma is a second-year Actuarial Science and Statistics student at the University of Toronto. She has been involved with the UofT Actuarial Science Club since her first year, when she served as the First-Year Representative, and she currently holds the role of Marketing Assistant.

After attending ASNA for the first time in 2026, she found the experience extremely helpful for making new friends and building valuable industry connections, which inspired her to share the opportunity with others.

Lehan Xu – York University – Ontario

Lehan Xu is a fourth-year Actuarial Science student at York University. Lehan has passed several of the preliminary actuarial exams and continues to work through the SOA pathway while staying active in the actuarial community on campus.

After seeing firsthand how valuable the ASNA convention can be, he is excited to serve as York University’s Head Delegate. He looks forward to leading York’s delegation and helping fellow students make the most of the networking, seminars, and career opportunities ASNA has to offer.

Nicholas Ferreira – Western University – Ontario

Nicholas is a third-year student at Western University pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science with a passion for mathematics and community. He is currently working toward completing both Exam FM and P. After volunteering at ASNA 2025/26, he is pumped and ready to take charge and help provide other students with the opportunity to attend and experience our wonderful community!

Tristan Abela – Carleton University – Ontario

Tristan Abela is a student at Carleton University pursuing an Honours degree in Mathematics and Statistics with a minor in Economics. Currently serving as the President of the Carleton University Actuarial Student Association (CASA), Tristan is dedicated to fostering growth and collaboration within the actuarial community. Following his engagement with the Actuarial Students’ National Association (ASNA), he is thrilled to return to the upcoming convention as Carleton’s Head Delegate.

Josie Sauvé – University of Windsor – Ontario

Josie is a fourth year actuarial science student at the University of Windsor. She attended ASNA 2025 and she enjoyed her time so immensely that she has decided to take on the role of Head Delegate!

In Windsor, Josie holds the position of Co-Vice President of the Windsor Actuarial Club, and she is enthusiastic about helping other students on their actuarial journey. She is currently preparing for exams FM and P, and she is looking forward to learning from her fellow ASNA peers.

Josie completed her third year abroad in the UK, where she further developed her love of travelling and learning about actuarial science across the world. Outside the classroom, Josie loves hiking, knitting, and practicing yoga. She’s excited to meet the ASNA team so feel free to connect and reach out to her!

Shania Kodai – University of Ottawa – Ontario

Shania is a fourth-year university student with internship experience across the insurance, pensions, and reinsurance industries. She has worked with HUB International, LifeWorks, CAAT Pension Plan, Gallagher, and Pacific Life Re. Outside of academics and work, Shania enjoys reading, board games, and connecting with others through professional and community events.

Mir Shabbar Hussain – McMaster University – Ontario

Mir is a third-year Mathematics and Statistics student, with a minor in Computer Science at McMaster University. Last year, he had the opportunity to attend his first ASNA Convention, where he also volunteered as a photographer! An experience that sparked his passion for the organization and motivated him to apply for multiple roles within the team. A highly energetic individual who loves meeting new people, Mir brings genuine enthusiasm to everything he takes on, whether that’s collaborating with peers, getting involved in the broader actuarial community, or connecting with like-minded students from across the country.

Mir is passionate about promoting the ASNA Convention by highlighting its invaluable networking opportunities, engaging seminars, and the professional growth it offers to students at every stage of their actuarial journey. He believes in the power of community and is committed to helping fellow students discover and make the most of everything ASNA has to offer.

In his free time, you can either find Mir cheering on the Buffalo Bills, building something random just to see if he can, or plugged into a podcast, because there’s always something new worth learning about! Feel free to reach out if you have any recommendations, or even just to say Hi!

Jigarjeet Grovera – Wilfrid Laurier University – Ontario

Jigarjeet is a fourth-year student pursuing a double degree in actuarial science and business administration at the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University. She has passed four actuarial exams and has gained experience in life consulting and pensions audit/consulting through internships at Milliman and EY. She is excited to continue her professional journey with Munich Re this upcoming winter.

Outside of academics and internships, Jigarjeet is actively involved in the actuarial student community through leadership roles with organizations including ASNA, UW ActSci Club, Quantify, and the Laurier Insurance and Risk Association. Having attended the past two ASNA conventions, she is excited to support and connect actuarial students across Canada in her roles as Director of External Outreach and Head Delegate for Wilfrid Laurier University.

Kevin Yang – Queen’s University – Ontario

Kevin Yang is a third-year Mathematics and Engineering student at Queen’s University with a strong curiosity for actuarial science. As Vice President of the recently re-founded Queen’s Actuarial Science Club, he hopes to continue playing a role in growing interest in the field at Queen’s. After an amazing experience attending ASNA, Kevin is thrilled to serve as a Head Delegate.

Outside of Academics, Kevin loves playing sports, hanging out with friends, and League of Legends. He always enjoys meeting new people, so feel free to reach out, connect, or just send him a reel.

John Dowdall – University of Guelph – Ontario

John is a Mathematical Economics student at the University of Guelph. He has completed internships at Co-operators and Intact, gaining hands-on experience in pricing and business performance in both personal and commercial lines.

Passionate about fostering the actuarial community, he co-founded the Actuarial Science Club at the University of Guelph to help students connect, share recruiting insights, and support one another in pursuing internships and early-career opportunities in the industry.

Denis Semak – University of Manitoba – West

Denis Semak is a fourth year Actuarial Mathematics and Finance student at the University of Manitoba. He first attended ASNA 2025-2026 in Ottawa, and his experience was so significant and meaningful to him that he knew he had to get involved. As the university’s Head Delegate, he’s passionate about building engagement from the student body through well-structured info sessions and preparation. He’s motivated to ease any overwhelming feelings new students may be experiencing and show them the importance of growing meaningful interpersonal relationships within the Actuarial community.

He’s earned the FM credit and is sitting for Exam P in July 2026 with an upcoming internship at Wawanesa P&C in the Fall. Outside of academics, Denis is a passionate guitarist, long-distance runner, and weightlifter. He enjoys learning new things, making lasting memories, and most importantly, meeting new people, so don’t be intimidated to say hello on LinkedIn or in person!

Chao Gao – University of Regina – West

Chao is a third-year Actuarial Science student at the University of Regina with strong interests in probability, financial mathematics, data analysis, insurance, and risk management. He is currently preparing for SOA exams while pursuing academic excellence in his actuarial studies. Chao enjoys helping fellow students through tutoring and values building meaningful connections within the actuarial community.

Chao attended his first ASNA convention in 2026 and found the experience incredibly rewarding. He is excited to return this year as a Head Delegate for the University of Regina and looks forward to increasing ASNA’s presence and influence within the university community.

Ranudi Bihanga Palihawadana – University of Calgary – West

Ranudi is an Actuarial Science student at the University of Calgary and currently serves as a Junior Executive of Events with the University of Calgary Actuarial Society (UCAS). This will be her second ASNA convention, and she is excited to continue building connections within the actuarial community while contributing to the student experience.

Outside of academics, Ranudi works as a retail style advisor. In her free time, she enjoys playing volleyball, is currently working toward her National Lifeguard certification, and loves watching Calgary’s summer sunsets.

Shenghao Wang – University of Alberta – West

Shenghao Wang is a Statistics major with a minor in Mathematics at the University of Alberta. He is interested in actuarial science, data analytics, and connecting with fellow students and industry professionals through ASNA.

Kira Scheck – University of British Columbia – West

Kira is entering her third year as a Mathematics student at the University of British Columbia. She is currently the VP Marketing for UBC’s Actuarial Sciences Club and a Canadian Student Ambassador at the Society of Actuaries. Through these roles, Kira loves planning events that bring Actuarial Science students together and build community.

Outside of the classroom, you’ll find Kira playing tennis or video games. She also loves exploring new cafes in Vancouver and grabbing a sweet treat in between classes. She believes that Actuarial Science students are stronger when they stick together, learn from each other, and help one another through tough times. Sharneet Kaur – Simon Fraser University – West

Sharneet is an Actuarial Science Student at Simon Fraser University. She is currently completing her first actuarial internship with Pacific Life Re in Toronto. So far, she has completed two actuarial exams and is hoping to graduate next year.

Outside of school and work, Sharneet enjoys spending time outdoors, whether that means going for a hike, exploring new places, or simply enjoying nature. She also loves baking, meeting new people, and having great conversations. She would describe herself as mostly extroverted, with just a little bit of introvert mixed in.

Sharneet attended ASNA for the first time last year and had an amazing experience. She’s excited to return, reconnect with familiar faces, and meet new people in Montréal next year.

Aiden Greene – Dalhousie University – Atlantic

Aiden is a third-year student studying Actuarial Science and Statistics at Dalhousie University. A former pure mathematics student at Saint Mary’s University, he discovered his passion for Actuarial Science at the 2026 ASNA Convention in Ottawa, leading to him transferring to Dalhousie to pursue a major in Actuarial Science. Following a great first experience at ASNA last year, he is thrilled to return this year as Dalhousie University’s Head Delegate.

During his first internship at Intact Insurance, Aiden developed a strong foundation and a genuine interest in insurance and risk assessment. He looks forward to continuing building his career in the industry and is currently preparing to write his first actuarial exam, Exam P, in September 2026.

During his free time, Aiden likes playing and watching hockey, running, hitting the gym, travelling, and riding roller coasters. He also enjoys socializing and making new friends, and is excited to do so at this year’s convention.

Emmanuel Lagudah – University of PEI – Atlantic

Emmanuel is a fourth-year Actuarial Science student at the University of Prince Edward Island. He currently serves as Treasurer of the university’s Actuarial Science Club, where he helps support student initiatives and engagement within the actuarial community. This will be his second time attending the ASNA Convention, and he is excited for the opportunity to connect with fellow students and industry professionals from across Canada! Known for his positive attitude and team-oriented mindset, Emmanuel enjoys getting involved both academically and socially.

Luke Foster – St. Francis Xavier University – Atlantic

Luke is going into 4th year at STFX university, where he is majoring in Mathematics and Business Administration, minoring in Economics, and getting a degree in actuarial science. He likes sports like hockey, football and golf and enjoys spending his free time staying active and hanging out with friends.
