We’re proud to introduce this year’s ANÉA-ASNA team! A passionate and dynamic group of actuarial students from across the country. Throughout the year, they’ll be working behind the scenes to create meaningful initiatives, provide helpful resources, and foster connections between students and professionals in the actuarial field.

From webinars and networking events to exclusive content and student support, their mission is to elevate the student experience and strengthen the actuarial community. Their efforts will culminate at the annual convention, where students from coast to coast will come together to learn, connect, and grow.

Board of Directors

Athanasios LavazosExecutive Director

 

Athanasios is a fourth-year Actuarial Mathematics student at Concordia University. He served as President for the 2024–2025 term and actively participated in various student organizations throughout his academic journey. As Executive Director, Athanasios plans to be a key resource for this year’s team and help ANEA-ASNA continue making a lasting impact on the next generation of actuaries.

Athanasios previously interned at Intact, Mercer, and Munich Re. Outside of classes, he enjoys meeting new people and chatting over coffee — so feel free to say hello or reach out to him on LinkedIn.

Isaac MarchandBoard of Director

 

Isaac is a graduate student in actuarial science at Simon Fraser University. He has been involved with ASNA for the past three years, most recently serving as Convention Chair. This year, he returns as a member of the Board of Directors, where he will draw on his past experience to support and advise the current leadership team.

Outside of ASNA, Isaac is passionate about his research in financial risk modeling, enjoys outdoor sports, and is a dog lover. If you see him at an ASNA event, don’t hesitate to say hello—he’s always happy to meet new people.

Abigiel Utomo – President

 

Abigiel is a third-year actuarial science student at the University of Calgary. She is currently an intern at Aviva, where she previously gained hands-on experience in both commercial and personal insurance pricing, and is now building her skills on the specialty pricing team.

Her journey with ASNA began as Director of Marketing for the Montreal convention—a role that sparked her passion for community-building and ultimately led to her current position as ASNA President. She’s excited to be leading the planning of the 2026 convention in Ottawa and is deeply grateful for the trust the community has placed in her. Alongside the team, she’s working on some exciting new initiatives—stay tuned!

Outside of school and work, Abigiel enjoys exploring new hobbies—lately she’s been into gaming, and she’s looking forward to a summer of adventure while based in Toronto. When it’s time to unwind, she turns to painting or catching up with friends. Don’t hesitate to say hello if you see her around—she’s always happy to connect!

Sue Liu – President-Elect

 

Sue is a third-year actuarial student from the University of Waterloo. She has interned at SunLife, CAA, PwC, Oliver Wyman and Milliman.

In the past, she held a role as the Vice President of Case Competition for the most recent ASNA convention in Niagara Falls and the experience has encouraged her to step up as the current ASNA President-Elect. In 2024, she was the Chair for the Quantity Risk & Insurance Competition in Toronto. In her free time, she has been trying out new activities such as Japanese Jujitsu.

Sue is very grateful for the trust that the team has put in her. She will work hard to bring all of you another amazing convention in 2026 and 2027!

Darsh Wadhia – Convention Chair

 

Darsh Wadhia is a passionate and driven fourth-year Actuarial Science student at Western University. He has passed four actuarial exams and brings diverse industry experience, having interned at WTW in Toronto and Manulife in Montreal. He is set to continue his professional journey with Sun Life this upcoming summer.

Darsh’s journey with ASNA began in 2023 as a volunteer at the Toronto convention. What started as a way to get involved quickly became something much deeper—a community that supported, challenged, and inspired him. Since then, he’s served as Director of Sales for ASNA 2024 and Vice President of Communications for ASNA 2025. Now, he returns as Convention Chair, eager to give back to the organization that has given him so much.

To Darsh, ASNA is more than a student network—it’s a family. Every person he has met through ASNA has left a lasting impression with their brilliance, ambition, and kindness. He encourages anyone reading this to consider applying for a role. Whether you’re new to the field or unsure where you fit in, ASNA welcomes you. Darsh still remembers feeling overwhelmed and behind when he attended his first convention. But with time, effort, and the support of this community, he not only found his place—he grew into a leader.

Amy Zhao – VP Administration

 

Amy is going into her third year of actuarial science at the University of Calgary. She is currently in her second work term with Sun Life, and has passed two actuarial exams. After volunteering during her first convention in 2024 and serving as VP West last year, she is very excited to take on the role of VP Administration, and to join an amazing team dedicated to supporting actuarial science students across Canada in their journeys!

Rayan Gandjy – VP Finance

 

Rayan is a fourth-year Actuarial Mathematics student at Concordia University. He has completed internships at BFL CANADA (Summer 2024), RGA (Fall 2024), and Sun Life (Winter 2025), gaining valuable experience across various sectors of the actuarial field. He has attended the past three ASNA Conventions, serving as Concordia’s Head Delegate and Director of Special Projects last year. He looks forward to continuing his involvement at the upcoming convention as VP Finance and once again as Concordia’s Head Delegate.
Known for his strong work ethic and collaborative spirit, Rayan is always ready to support his peers. He is actively involved in extracurricular and volunteer initiatives, contributing to ASNA, MASSA Concordia (Mathematics, Actuarial and Statistics Students Association), and various programs within the Ismaili Community across Canada. Alex Palmer – VP Ontario

 

Alex is a student leader at the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University. Holding executive positions at actuarial associations of both campuses, ASNA, and the SOA.

He is looking to join the Consulting Life/Health industry with prior experience in audit consulting and pension pricing.

For his role as VP Ontario, he has the ambitious goal of creating in-person events at every Ontario campus as well as on-boarding more universities!

Sidney CampeauVP Quebec

 

Sidney is a third-year Actuarial Mathematics student at the University of Montreal. He has completed Exam FM and will be writing Exam P this upcoming summer. He gained valuable experience interning at Intact last summer and is set to join PwC as an actuarial intern.

Throughout his academic journey, Sidney has been committed to fostering an actuarial community at his university, co-founding its actuarial club to support and connect fellow students.

He is honoured to serve as VP Québec for the upcoming year and aims to build a stronger, more united actuarial community across the province.

In his free time, Sidney enjoys cooking and trying different foods, playing sports like basketball and volleyball, and traveling. He’s very sociable and always excited to meet new people! Feel free to connect with him on LinkedIn or say hi at the convention!

Wyatt Larsh – VP West

 

Wyatt is a second-year actuarial science student at the University of Calgary. He attended and volunteered at his first ASNA Convention last year, and he is so excited to be a part of the planning for ASNA 2026 in Ottawa. He instantly loved everything ASNA does for students across Canada, and he wanted to get involved as quickly as possible.

With a history of leadership and administrative work (due in part to his internship this summer), Wyatt is so excited to help build a team of hard-working students from the West that are dedicated to fully taking advantage of everything ASNA has to offer. He is truly inspired by the hard work that makes ASNA possible every year, and cannot wait to dedicate his time to the cause.

Gurleen Kaur – VP Atlantic

 

Gurleen is an actuarial science student from Dalhousie University. She currently serves as the Vice President Atlantic for ASNA and is also the President of the Dalhousie Actuarial Club. She is passionate about connecting actuarial students across the Atlantic region and creating opportunities for learning, networking, and growth.

Gurleen is currently interning at Aviva Canada, where she continues to build her knowledge and experience in the insurance industry. In her spare time, she enjoys hosting student events, and working on creative projects.

Annabelle TopasVP Communications

 

Annabelle is a 2nd year student at University of Toronto pursuing Actuarial Science and Statistics. She was last year’s ASNA Head Delegate for UofT and is excited to step up for the role of VP Communications this year. As part of ASNA’s executive team, she is excited to make ASNA a fun, rewarding and memorable experience for everyone.

William Zhang – VP Case Comp

 

William is a first-year Math & Business student at the University of Waterloo. After participating in the ASNA 2024 Hackathon, he found the experience incredibly rewarding and is now excited to help shape the upcoming ASNA Case Competition into an engaging and meaningful learning experience for many. 🙂

In his free time, William enjoys watching badminton — and occasionally stepping onto the court himself. Feel free to reach out if you’re curious to learn more about the competition or simply want to chat about racket and string recommendations!

Syrine Mghirbi – Webmaster

 

Syrine is a passionate and driven third-year Actuarial Mathematics student at Concordia University with a concentration in Finance. She has gained valuable experience through internships in asset management at Normandin Beaudry, commercial underwriting at Intact, and pension analysis at Aon. Her goal is to continue exploring the intersection of actuarial science and investments.

Syrine first joined ASNA in 2024 as a Webmaster. What started as a way to support the convention’s digital presence turned into a deeply rewarding experience that connected her to a vibrant network of peers. Now returning for another year on the executive team, she’s excited to keep contributing to the organization that helped her grow both personally and professionally.

Syrine believes ASNA is more than a convention. It’s a space where students find their place, make lasting friendships, and gain confidence in their unique paths. She encourages anyone considering a role to take the leap. You never know how much you’ll grow until you try.

Ivy NamFuture Actuary

 

Ivy is a driven and curious student currently pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science at the University of Toronto. With a background in psychology and experience in statistical research, she brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective to her actuarial journey.

As Future Actuary, Ivy is focused on enhancing student engagement and communications across the actuarial community. With prior experience in research, teaching, and leadership, she is passionate about creating accessible, meaningful content and supporting initiatives that empower students at all stages of their careers.

Outside of academics and ASNA, Ivy enjoys going to the gym, reading, and baking galettes. She looks forward to contributing to ASNA’s continued growth and connecting with future leaders in the actuarial field.

Sanjit Neil SamantaVP Business Relations

 

Sanjit Samanta is a third-year Schulich Leader majoring in Actuarial Science and Statistics at the University of Toronto. Sanjit is excited to take his role within ASNA and drive forward new and innovative opportunities for the students who engage with ASNA.

Sanjit is currently interning as an actuarial analyst at Definity. Sanjit represents the University of Toronto as a SOA Ambassador. With a proven track-record in audacious and game-changing leadership, Sanjit enjoys volunteering in his past-time. Notably, he is a Chief Data Officer at STEM Fellowship, one of Canada’s largest data science organizations.

Daria Bourdin – Director of Sponsorship

 

Daria is a driven and ambitious third-year Actuarial Mathematics student at Concordia University. She has completed two actuarial exams and is committed to writing more over the next year. Daria attended her first ASNA convention as a volunteer in 2023 and has served as the Director of Events for the past two years. After an incredible experience on the convention committee, she decided to cap off her university journey as the Director of Sponsorships.

Daria has internship experience at Sun Life and Mercer, and she is currently interning at PwC.

Outside of school, Daria is a fitness enthusiast. In her free time, she enjoys hitting the gym, hiking, and practicing yoga. As a former competitive swimmer, her love for the water remains strong—her dream is to travel the world and swim in every body of water she can find.

Mary Barron – Director of Events

 

Mary is a third year Actuarial Science student at the University of Windsor. Last year, she held the position of Head Delegate for Windsor. She had such an amazing experience at ASNA that she has decided to join the convention team while continuing on the delegate team again this year!

In Windsor, Mary serves as the President of the Windsor Actuarial Club, and she is excited to bring the excitement of ASNA to Windsor’s community of students! She is passionate about the field, and is eager to collaborate with and learn from others on the ASNA team while planning ASNA’s events!

Mary is writing exam FM in June 2025 and exam P in September 2025. Outside of studying, Mary loves fashion, working out, and spending time outside! She also enjoys spending time with friends and loves to meet new people, so feel free to reach out to her!

Ruby Lui – Director of Logistics and Finance

 

Daniel MageeDirector of Sales

 

Daniel is a dynamic second-year Actuarial Mathematics & Finance student at Concordia University. In his first year at Concordia, Daniel successfully completed his first two actuarial exams, was elected the next Vice-President Academic of the Mathematics, Statistics & Actuarial Science Student Association at Concordia, and landed an internship at Sun Life Financial, working in their DBS Structuring team for the Summer 2025 semester. Daniel’s first ASNA experience occurred at the Niagara 2025 Convention, where he served as a volunteer. Looking to contribute in a greater way to this year’s conference, Daniel is beyond excited to be your Director of Sales for ASNA 2026!

Outside of the mathematics sphere, Daniel is a passionate coach! He has been coaching basketball and tennis for over 6 years, recently taking over as head coach of his basketball club’s AAA Novice Boys summer team. Daniel is also a huge politico, with a particular interest in Canadian federal politics. And, Daniel is an avid musician and music-lover, with experience playing five instruments and particularly enjoying R&B tracks. Daniel looks forward to meeting you at the Convention!

Émile GravelDirector of Accommodations

 

Émile is a third-year student at Université de Montréal in Actuarial Science. He completed internships at TELUS Health in Fall 2024, and Normandin Beaudry in Summer 2025, and he wants to explore the business and consulting opportunities in the actuarial field. He is passionate about mathematics, economics and finance and he is excited to help next year’s convention impact as many students as possible. Bolin MaDirector of Marketing

 

Bolin is a second-year Actuarial Science student at the University of Waterloo. He has passed 2 exams and will be interning at Sun Life and Intact in the upcoming Summer and Fall.

The spectacular experiences Bolin had at ASNA Niagara and ASNA Montreal led to him joining the convention team for ASNA 2026. Bolin believes that every student interested in the field of Actuarial Science should attend ASNA – whether it is to find jobs, get a break from studying, or to build meaningful connections with peers and professionals across the country. They had truly been rewarding experiences for him – and he hopes they will become yours too!

In his free time, Bolin enjoys going to the gym, rock climbing, and playing a fun game called Avalon. He loves meeting new people and hearing about the unique and wonderful experiences they have! Please don’t hesitate to say hi when you see him!

Ira Chourey Director of Design

 

Ira is a third-year Actuarial Science student at the University of Waterloo. She has previously worked in both public and private sector roles, including placements at the Ontario Public Service and Sun Life Financial. She is passionate about building community and making an impact, Ira has also held leadership positions such as Vice President of Finance for the University of Waterloo’s Actuarial Science Club.

This year, she is excited to take on a larger role within the actuarial community and is eager to help create a welcoming and memorable experience for fellow students. When she’s not working, you can find her experimenting with digital art, or discovering her next favorite non-fiction read.

Gabriel McLellanDirector of Operations

 

Gabe McLellan is a third-year Actuarial Science student at Western University and currently serves as ASNA’s Director of Operations. Previously served as Vice President of Administration, and a volunteer in his first year, where he first saw how important ASNA is to all Actuarial students.

At Western, Gabe has held multiple roles within the Actuarial & Data Science Undergraduate Association, including First-Year Representative and Director of Community Outreach. Outside the classroom, he’s an active participant in a variety of intramural sports and enjoys finding balance between academics, extracurriculars, and community involvement.

Gabe is currently preparing for Exams FM and P and is passionate about helping other students in their actuarial journeys. He’s excited to meet all the amazing volunteers this year and looks forward to helping make ASNA 2025 run smoothly from behind the scenes!

Madhav Nikhil SewpalDirector of Special Projects

 

Madhav Sewpal is a 3rd year international student from Mauritius, currently pursuing a degree in Mathematics with a concentration in Actuarial Science at Carleton University.

He is deeply committed to community development through leadership, education, public policy, and diplomacy. Since the age of 16, he has actively contributed to youth-led initiatives and institutional dialogue.

He views ASNA as an ideal platform to further his mission of empowering others and shaping meaningful change within the actuarial profession.

Gabriel St-AubinDirector of Special Projects

 

Gabriel graduated in 2025 from the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University with a bachelor’s in mathematics and a bachelor’s in administration. During his time in Waterloo, he completed 6 work terms at Munich RE, Intact, Sun Life, Fairfax and Echelon and passed 6 professional exams.

After a successful implementation of the new interview and coffee chat scheduling tools at ASNA 2025, Gabriel is returning to further improve scheduling for ASNA 2026!

In his free time, Gabriel loves to hike, ski and has spent over 2/3 of the past 9 months on the road across North America and Europe. Those close to him know that he has a wide-spanning music taste and can often be found attending a concert. He is always happy to help aspiring actuaries so feel free to reach out to him if you think he can help in English ou en français!

Bedel Bokama Shambu – McGill – Quebec

 

Bedel is a third-year Statistics major at McGill University with a strong passion for actuarial science and student leadership. He currently serves as the Marketing Director for the Quantify Risk and Insurance Case Competition, leading a team of coordinators to manage and promote the competition’s social media presence. Bedel is also the Vice President of Finance for the McGill Students’ Actuarial Association, overseeing the organization’s financial operations. After volunteering at both the 2024 and 2025 ASNA Conventions, he is looking forward to join the ASNA Team for the upcoming convention, serving as McGill’s Head Delegate.

In addition to his leadership roles, Bedel has participated in several actuarial case competitions, including the Quantify Risk and Insurance Case Competition and the Travelers Virtual Actuarial Case Competition, where he developed solutions on AI integration and reinsurance strategy.

Sandy VilmeUQAM – Quebec

 

Sandy Vilme is a passionate student with a strong interest in mathematics, finance, and particularly risk management. Currently in her second year of the actuarial science bachelor’s program at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), Sandy is actively preparing to obtain her Associate designation from the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (AICA), while also considering completing the CFA program exams.

Driven by a commitment to excellence and a meticulous approach to her work, Sandy served as the Head Delegate for UQAM at ASNA. In this role, she dedicated herself to representing her university with leadership and encouraging student engagement within the actuarial community.

Determined to excel in her field and make a difference, Sandy Vilme continues her journey with passion and precision. She looks forward to exploring new opportunities in risk management and making a meaningful impact within the financial and actuarial industries.

Émile GravelUniversité de Montreal – Quebec

Marc-Antoine BrunetUniversité Laval – Quebec

 

Marc-Antoine is a second-year actuarial science student at Université Laval. After attending the ASNA convention last year and loving the experience, he is thrilled to return as Université Laval’s Head Delegate.

A naturally social and curious individual, Marc-Antoine loves meeting new people and exchanging ideas. Outside of class, he enjoys programming, particularly exploring how technology and actuarial science can be blended to tackle real-world challenges.

Marc-Antoine is especially passionate about integrating AI into actuarial science to optimize solutions and innovate in the field. He looks forward to connecting with fellow students and industry professionals at the next ASNA convention – feel free to say hi if you see him!

Aayushi Tuli – Waterloo – Ontario

 

Aayushi Tuli is a fourth-year Actuarial Science and Statistics student at the University of Waterloo with experience across actuarial consulting, insurance, and risk analytics. She has held co-op roles at Mercer, Manulife, Zurich, RSM, and Sagen, contributing to projects involving capital reporting, pension valuations, and automation tools. Aayushi also currently serves as Chair of Quantify 2025, a national actuarial case competition that brought together more than 150 students from over 20 universities under her leadership. She secured her first actuarial co-op through ASNA and formed meaningful connections through the conference and is now extremely excited to give back to the community that helped shape her journey. Aayushi has passed three actuarial exams and is passionate about creating practical, engaging experiences for students in the field.

Hantian ChenUniversity of Toronto – Ontario

 

Hantian is a second-year student at the University of Toronto, double majoring in Actuarial Science and Statistics. With a strong academic record, she has been named a Dean’s List Scholar and has passed both Exam P and FM, currently pursuing the SOA pathway.

She’s actively involved in the actuarial community as the ASNA Head Delegate for the University of Toronto and is excited to keep contributing at future conventions. Hantian has also enjoyed working on national case competitions like the CAS Case Competition and the Munich Re Cup, where she explored catastrophe risk and pension risk transfer strategies using data-driven approaches.

Thi Thanh Thuy Nguyen (Luna)York University – Ontario

 

Luna is an actuarial science student at York University. After attending the ASNA Convention in 2024 and 2025 as a volunteer, she was inspired by the vibrant community and decided to take on a leadership role to help others experience the same.

She has passed two actuarial exams and completed internships with CMPA, Canada Life, and Mercer. Outside of school, Luna enjoys exploring the city with her camera, capturing everyday stories through street photography. She also loves meeting new people! Qiuyi Liu (Melody)Western – Ontario

 

Melody is a third-year Actuarial Science and Business dual-degree student at Western University and Ivey Business School. She has passed several preliminary actuarial exams and is completing her summer internship at Canada Life. She is passionate about applying analytics to real-world problems and is hopes to explore opportunities in reinsurance and capital markets.

Melody first got involved with ASNA as a volunteer and found the experience incredibly rewarding. She’s excited to return this year as a head delegate for Western University and looks forward to increasing ASNA’s presence and influence in the university.

Shania KodaiUniversity of Ottawa – Ontario

 

Shania is a third-year student at the University of Ottawa and this year’s Head Delegate. Having attended ASNA in 2023, 2024, and 2025, she’s seen firsthand the value of the convention and is excited to now lead uOttawa’s delegation and help others make the most of the experience.

Passionate about actuarial science, Shania has completed internships at HUB International, LifeWorks, CAAT Pension Plan, and is now completing her fourth internship on the actuarial consulting team at Gallagher. She is currently studying for the FM exam. Outside of academics, she enjoys creating art and meeting new people—so don’t hesitate to say hi at the convention!

Reuel Dwij AlvaMcMaster – Ontario

 

Reuel is a final-year Honours Actuarial and Financial Mathematics student at McMaster University. He’s excited to represent McMaster as Head Delegate for ASNA 2025-2026 and looks forward to encouraging more students to get involved with the convention and the actuarial community. Since first attending ASNA in 2023, Reuel has been passionate about making connections and creating opportunities for his peers. He has interned at Rocket Mortgage and has also worked in business development and sales, allowing him to grow his communication and problem-solving skills across different environments.

On campus, Reuel has taken on several leadership roles, serving as VP Public Relations for the McMaster Actuarial Society and currently as VP Finance for the Students Advancing Brain Cancer Research club. He is also preparing to write Exam FM this summer. Outside of his academic and professional life, Reuel enjoys long-distance running, playing basketball, hiking, and playing music whether it’s classical, acoustic, or electric guitar. James ChunWilfrid Laurier – Ontario

 

James is a third‑year student at Laurier pursuing a double degree in BBA and Financial Math. Over the summer, he worked at CNA as an Underwriter, where he gained experience assessing risk and working in the commercial insurance industry.

Outside the classroom, James he’s usually rock climbing, playing badminton, or looking through vinyls for The Killers and Laufey. He’s always up for meeting new people, so feel free to reach out and chat about finance, music, or anything at all!

Vibhanshu Pathak – University of Manitoba – West

 

Vibhanshu is a second-year Statistics and Actuarial Science Joint Honors student at the University of Manitoba, with a deep passion for astronomy, physics, and their philosophical underpinnings. He is equally captivated by pure mathematics and its philosophical dimensions. A major soccer enthusiast, he enjoys both playing and following the sport. His hobbies also include speed cubing and watching Films. He is obsessed with the notion of Cinema in different decades. Currently, he is focused on completing the FM and P actuarial exams by the end of the year.

Ruby EgerUniversity of Regina – West

 

Ruby is entering her third year of studies at the University of Regina, majoring in Actuarial Science and Pure Mathematics. She currently serves as the Vice President of MASS (Mathematics, Actuarial Science, and Statistics Student Society) and is preparing to write her FM and P exams in June and October of 2025.

Outside of academics, she is a professional dancer who trains and teaches in ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, heels, and Latin partnering styles. She is passionate about combining creativity with analytical thinking and hopes to build a career in life insurance and family financial planning. Her long-term goal is to support families in building financially secure futures, with a particular interest in pensions, life insurance, and intergenerational wealth planning.

Chelsea MorrisUniversity of Calgary – West

 

Chelsea is a fourth-year actuarial science student at the University of Calgary. She has attended the past two ASNA conventions, where she successfully secured internships through the career fair.

Returning as Head Delegate, Chelsea is passionate about helping students make the most of the ASNA convention by promoting its invaluable networking opportunities, engaging seminars, and the chance for professional growth.

Wenxuan(Frances) ShenUniversity of British Columbia – West

 

Frances Shen is a fourth-year Statistics student at the University of British Columbia. She has gained experience through internships, case competitions, and collaborative projects that explore both the technical and strategic aspects of the actuarial field.
Frances currently serves as UBC’s Head Delegate for ASNA, where she aspires to bring together students with an interest in actuarial science, foster cross-campus collaboration, and help her peers explore career paths through national-level professional development opportunities.
Outside of academics, Frances finds joy in movement and rhythm—she’s an avid dancer, always up for a good street dance session, and loves discovering new cafés around Vancouver. She also enjoys tackling life’s probability puzzles—usually with a good playlist in the background.

Tippi YanSimon Fraser – West

 

Tippi Yan is a fourth-year Actuarial Science student at Simon Fraser University and currently serves as SFU’s Head Delegate for the Actuarial Students’ National Association (ASNA). As an advocate for student engagement and professional growth, Tippi leads initiatives to connect SFU students with the actuarial community through ASNA events and industry networking opportunities.

Tippi began his actuarial career with a co-op at Aon in pension consulting, followed by a placement at Aviva on the Commercial Auto Pricing team, where he contributed to regulatory filings and rate development for various provinces. He has also participated in the ASNA 2024 Case Competition, applying time series forecasting and data visualization techniques to tackle industry-relevant challenges.

With a strong passion for mentorship and collaboration, Tippi organizes information sessions and works closely with both students and professionals to promote actuarial awareness and career readiness. He looks forward to continuing to support and represent the SFU actuarial community at the national level.

Gurleen Kaur – Dalhousie – Atlantic

 

Gurleen is an actuarial science student from Dalhousie University. She currently serves as the Vice President Atlantic for ASNA and is also the President of the Dalhousie Actuarial Club. She is passionate about connecting actuarial students across the Atlantic region and creating opportunities for learning, networking, and growth.

Gurleen is currently interning at Aviva Canada, where she continues to build her knowledge and experience in the insurance industry. In her spare time, she enjoys hosting student events, and working on creative projects.
