This year we are finally moving back to an in-person convention and are proud to announce that the 33rd ANÉA-ASNA Convention will be taking place in bustling Downtown Toronto near Toronto Harbourfront! ASNA executives are working around the clock to secure even more sponsors, increase student attendance, and bring you new exciting events! With a jam-packed schedule ahead with so much to do, this year’s convention promises to be the largest and best one yet! Students and employers from all across Canada will come together under the same roof once again to build professional networks and support unique learning opportunities.

Things to do in Toronto

The ANÉA-ASNA Convention Committee is proud to present the 2023 Convention, 33 Years of ASNA, in the bustling city of Toronto, at the Westin Harbour Castle. This year, attendees will find themselves in the midst of the action, with access to Toronto’s Entertainment and Financial District. A short walk, subway, or bus ride will take you to the various attractions Toronto has to offer, from a colossal tower to beautiful parks, castles, and famous museums. Here are some of the things you can see in Toronto:

CN Tower

The CN Tower is a must-see tourist attraction if it’s your first time in Toronto. It is one of the tallest and most famous towers in the world that over 1.5 million people visit each year! Head to the main observation level to be 1,136 feet above ground, brave the CN Tower EdgeWalk, or enjoy food with a priceless view at the 360 Restaurant which rotates 360 degrees as you eat!

Harbourfront

The tranquil Harbourfront area located on the shores of magnificent Lake Ontario boasts waterfront parks and trails, galleries, and restaurants. Walk along Harbourfront, skate at the Harbourfront Centre’s wintry ice rink, or take a ferry to the Toronto Islands.

Ripley’s Aquarium

Located steps away from the CN Tower is Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada. Escape the Canadian winter and head to this aquatic museum where you can spot over 20,000 exotic sea and freshwater specimens spanning over 450 species. Segway through the Dangerous Lagoon, an underwater tunnel with a moving conveyor belt that holds various sharks, stingrays, and sea turtles. Before you leave, don’t forget to see colour changing jellyfish and rare blue lobsters!

Royal Ontario Museum

The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) is one of the largest museums in North America and the largest in Canada which attracts over 1 million visitors each year. This museum boasts more than 6 million items and 40 galleries. Set your eyes on diverse collections of dinosaur fossils, minerals and meteorites, Canadian and European historical artifacts, and African, Near Eastern, and East Asian art.

Casa Loma

Transport in time to a period of European elegance and splendor at Canada’s Majestic Castle, and the only true castle in North America, Casa Loma! It is one of the top tourist attractions in Toronto, racking over 650,000 visitors per year. While there, tour the numerous rooms decorated in periodic furnishings, take the long winding staircase up to the top of the tower to get a magnificent view of Toronto, or try out one of the many escape rooms!
